Strategically positioned, the previous storage facility stands alongside the Svitava riverbank, on the opposite side from the Zbrojovka mixed-use redevelopment.
The building’s renovation represents another important project of the gradual regeneration of the entire area, including the requalification/revitalization of it’s adjacent riverside.
Based on a thorough analysis of the building’s potential and that of its surroundings, it was decided to adapt the property to create a new framework for residential and mixed-use.
The residential section consists of spacious lofts with natural daylight and balconies facing the green riverbank. The xx century building will also house a multi-functional space on the ground floor and an office space, while the roof level has been turned into common recreational green outdoor areas for the building’s residents.
Among our proposed solutions, is the shift of the entrance to the main access road, in order to activate the connection to the public space and the riverside. To further connect the building to the street, a generous open space plan will host various commercial and hospitality spaces at the ground level.
The rooftop garden acts as a rain collector, facilitating the water drainage as well as providing a shared urban garden for the local community.
