Adaptive reuse doesn’t need to necessary be done for an entire building. At times one corner adaptation can make a huge impact on a locality. In case of the Grand Hotel Brno we have worked closely with the local authorities to turn a dark and unused back corner of the hotel into a micro retail space that connects with the rest of the retail spaces. Through this intervention the opposite public space becomes a lively retail square. The project is now under construction and the design features a new large window opening towards the staircase connecting the city center to the main train station of Brno.
