Opened for the first time in 1928, the administrative building of Zbrojovka, designed by architect Bohumír Čermák, oversaw the operations of this legendary factory for many decades. Following its reconstruction, it continues to serve a similar function, now acting as one of the entrance gateways to Nová Zbrojovka—a new, modern, lively and interconnected urban district growing in Brno under CPI Development.
The multi-purpose building combines office spaces with retail and services, and its reconstruction placed great emphasis on preserving original historical elements to the greatest extent possible. Externally, the building’s functionalist expression has been fully maintained. Internally, key features such as marble cladding, staircases, fireplaces, furniture, and the original elevator shaft have been carefully restored.
These historical elements are sensitively integrated with modern technologies and design approaches. Even after nearly 100 years, the renovated advertising light cube with its iconic logo remains one of the building’s defining features.
